Summer Beer Favorites

Recommendations ~

The hot temps of summer call for lighter, more refreshing choices in beer.

Many craft brewers take the opportunity to incorporate the flavors of summer fruits into their seasonal selection. Here are the tasting notes on four of our summer favorites.

Brooklyn Summer Ale

This English Pale Ale is medium bodied ale and pours golden yellow. Very nice malty flavors mixed with mild citrus hops. A little bigger mouthfeel than some of your typical summer beers, but very refreshing.

Dogfish Head Festina Peche

This Berliner Weisse style beer is very light bodied pale yellow with a medium amount of carbonation. There is a somewhat sour/tart flavor but it's balanced very nicely from the sweetness of the peach.

Harpoon Summer Beer

This lighter Kolsch-style ale is pours a golden color. There are hints of fruit and citrus with a slightly bitter hop flavor. The carbonation gives it a very nice crisp, dry finish.

Magic Hat Wacko

This Fruit Beer is made with beet sugar extract that has a slightly reddish hue. The taste is very sweet with a slight hint of fruit.
