Iniquity Black Ale
Tasting Notes ~
Southern Tier Brewing Company's Iniquity Black Ale is described by the brewer as an Imperial India Black Ale. Iniquity has a flavor profile similar to an Imperial IPA but utilizes black malts to give it its dark color.
Recommended Glassware: Iniquity should be served in a tulip glass.
Appearance: Pours almost pure black with a tan foamy head.
Aroma: Iniquity has a hop aroma with citrus at the forefront.
Flavor: Just like the aroma, the hop has a sweet citrus flavor. There's also a nice roasted malt flavor with maybe just a hint of chocolate. The malt and hops play off each other, providing a really unique flavor. Despite being a darker beer, Iniquity has a medium body and goes down very smooth. The sweet and smooth flavor can be very deceptive because the 9% ABV will sneak up on you very quickly.
Summary: If you're a fan of Imperial IPAs, be sure to check out Iniquity Black Ale.
