Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager

Tasting Notes ~

Despite the name, Strawberry Lager is actually a wheat beer brewed with fresh Louisiana strawberries.

The beer is usually released in March and is available only once per year, so definitely give it a try before it disappears until next spring!

Recommended Glassware: I recommend serving Strawberry Harvest Lager in a tumbler/pint-style glass.

Appearance: Pours a pale gold color with a slight haze and small white head.

Aroma: Strawberry Harvest has a very sweet yet subtle strawberry scent.

Flavor: As you take your first sip, the strawberry flavor is definitely apparent. A lot of fruit beers are dominated by sweet fruit flavor, but that's not really the case with Strawberry Lager. It's not too subtle, but it's also not extremely overpowering - it's just right. The beer is highly carbonated, giving it a nice crisp finish rounded out by the fresh flavor of strawberries.

Summary: Overall, this is a very refreshing beer, especially on a hot day. Even if you aren't a fan of beers with a fruit flavor profile, I recommend trying the Strawberry Harvest Lager.
