Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
This is a simple recipe for homemade ranch-style dressing - quick, easy and free from chemical additives, preservatives and excess sodium. Here we call for chives, but you can make variations by adding fresh herbs like dill, parsley, basil, or a combination.
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, minced
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Pinch of cayenne (optional)
Whisk all ingredients together in a small bowl. Makes about 1 cup.
This dressing recipe can easily be doubled and will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
